Who really washed the car?

Matt received a huge bucket of car care "accoutrements" from Stu and Erica for his birthday.  So last weekend, he a Steve washed the Civic together...as I stood in hiding to capture the Kodak moment... "father and son bonding", much to my surprise (NOT),

Steve was doing the work while Matt stood an watched/supervised...only did Matt surface when he realized the moment was being captured on film...here's the evidence...notice Matt's pose...car wash in hand...but whose holding the rag?  I hope he gave Steve a good $$$ tip!  What we do for our teens!

Sarah Gets Promoted to High School

Well it's offically, we are parents of TWO high schoolers!  Sarah graduated from middle school on Wednesday with all the pomp and circumstance that one would deserve at the end of junior high. We are very proud of Sarah, she maintained honor roll her entire year, while maintaining the busiest social life of anyone in our family! 

After graduation, we celebrated with a lunch at the club, attended by Sarah's friends Lani and Natalie.  In addition to Steve, Matt and myself, also joining our celebration was Aunt Megan, Stu & Erica Abrahamson and Chris Hon (Natalie's mom).

10 Secrets to Success

Steve found this in the paper and felt we should share this with the kids. After reading it, I felt I should share it with all of you!  Something to live by!

10 Secrets to Success

1. How you think is everything: Always be positive.  Think success, not failure. Beware of negative environments.

2.  Decide upon your true dreams and goals: write down your specific goals and develop a plan to reach them.

3.  Take Action: Goals are nothing without action.  Don't be afraid to get started. JUST DO IT!

4.  Never stop learning: Go back to school or read books.  Get training and acquire skills.

5.  Be Persistent and Work Hard: Success is a marathon, not a sprint.  Never give up!

6.  Learn to analyze details:  Get all the facts, all the input.  Learn from your mistakes.

7.  Focus on your time and money: Don't let other people or things distract you.

Grad Night ~ We survived!

Last night was Sarah's grad night...this is a significant step as it ends her middle school life and begins her high school life (big for Steve and I too)!  Prior to the party she had a few friends over for appetizers and Italian soda concoctions...all 8 teenagers were actually well mannered, charming and fun to be around...until the camera's came out...TEENAGERS!!!!  All in all, the evening was a memorable event and everyone had FUN!

Steve and I went to Orlando for a few days and my parents watched the teens...they all survived!!!  The kids (specifially Sarah) tried to "pull the wool over their eyes" but...they have been there, done that!!! Good job 'g-rents!
