I did it!!! I survived Las Vegas with 4 teenagers for 5 days. My brother Zach joined us on Thursday, so it was sort of like having 5 teenagers...
We rented a home off the strip...a smart move with teenagers! I could just image staying in a hotel on the strip, having to have 3 separate rooms...we would have absolutely no control!
You can view our Las Vegas photos by clicking the underlined word LAS VEGAS. The trip began on Monday with Sarah, her friend Kristin and myself flying to Las Vegas...sans the boys (they were all arriving later in the week). This early arrival allowed us sufficient chick shopping time...and did we have fun!!!
Matt and his friend Albie (our second son) arrived on Tuesday night...they were too tired to "hit the Strip" so we had a quiet night in (I know what a surprise...that was actually the only one!).
Wednesday was a busy day filled with lunch at the Venetian, a visit to Madame Tussuad's...what fun! You will have to ask the boys how they assaulted Beyonce and Brittney Spears (I could not post the photos!). In addition, Sarah and Kristin posed with Playboy founder Hugh Hefner and their likeness to Playmates scared the crap out of me, so those photos are not posted either!!! Steve arrived that evening at around 7PM...we picked him up, headed to Gallagher's Steak House in New York, New York followed by a couple of hours at ESPN Zone...thank god there was a semi-quiet room for us to sit in and talk. It had glass walls, so we could keep on eye on the teenagers...or should I say keep on eye on our teenage boys, ogling/watching other teenage girls and other teenage boys that were watching/ogling our girls! We had a couple of good laughs!
Thursday we went to the Star Trek Adventure at the Hilton...it was actually really cool! Everyone had a blast. Thursday afternoon brought the arrival of my baby brother, "Uncle Zach, coolest uncle in the universe", according to all teens! Everyone went swimming and relaxed as we were heading back to the Strip for an evening of fun at Excalibur. We attended the show Tournament of Kings, if you have never done this, it's pretty entertaining. I was expecting a silly show but we all enjoyed it. We were served a meal that had to be eaten entirely with your hands...don't wear silk!!!
Friday afternoon we split up and the boys went indoor go-kart racing and the girls went shopping(what a surprise). The day culminated with dinner at the WYNN LAS VEGAS RESORT at a fabulous restaurant Corsa Cucina (don't miss it!) the food and service was exceptional! Followed by the hit show Avenue Q...WOW was it funny! We met up with our friend Becca for drinks following the show, while the teens were once again sequestered in the ESPN Zone (this time unsupervised...not too sure what happened...and I don't want to know!).
Saturday morning all 7 of us headed to the Callaway Center and hit golf balls...the best part was Sarah realizing that she might actually like golf...maybe the thought of having to have a separate...new wardrobe was enticing as well. Zach, Albie and Matt had a "hitting contest", with Matt swearing he hit his 3 iron over 270 yards (sort of like the big fish story that fishermen tell). We finished the trip with lunch at Chinois in the Forum...everyone laughing and reminiscing about the week. I believe that I speak for all involved...Spring Break 2006 was an overwhelming success! What to do next year???
Sounds like way too much fun! Sorry I missed it:(
See you next weekend
