Sarah is choosen for the yearbook Best..???...Catergory

Yesterday, Sarah woke with a jolt of excitement.  She had been selected for one of the yearbook categories "Best..???...".  The categories were kept "secret", and she was told to go to a specific classroom at lunch for photos.  In addition to not knowing what category she won, she lamented for hours on what to wear for the photos! All of which mad her CRAZY!!! (she hates to not be in control...wonder where she gets that trait?)

Day 4

Still keepin' the faith!  Maintaining exercise, focus and positive attitude!  This is going to work!

He Cooks & Does Laundry !!!

Matt can cook!!!  Thank god...he will not starve living out on his own! He has mastered laundry too, now it's on to...house cleaning!  Can he do it???

How Teenagers Do Homework These Days!

I have been schooled in the necessary study aids that teenagers need...they are as follows: refreshments, computer, cell phone, IPOD and a big workspace...preferrably the kitchen table! 

Day 3

I have lived through my third day with wonderful success!!  So far...not hungry, grumpy or tired!  The gas problem isn't improving...but it's worth it(so I am told!). 

Day 2

Woke up a little distracted towards my goal...contemplated cheating... but didn't! I added frozen berries to my morning shake...way better!  Feeling strong.  Decided to step on the scale...just to see...down 1 lb from yesterday...good motivation!

DAY 1 ~ Dieting vs. Healthy Eating...A new beginning

Disclosure: This entry is long and probably boring for most...so I understand if you don't want to continue reading. But I need to write it and it's my blog, so I can do what I want!

A few weeks ago I had an "AHHHHAAA" moment...if I don't lose weight now, I could/will decrease my life expectancy by 10-20 years.  WOW!  That scared the shit out of me!!! In addition, I also increase my odds of type II diabetes by 30%! If that's not enough to scare me...what is? It's no longer about looking good...it's about health!  Here is a photo from my Mom's wedding that added to my realization of my hideous weight problem (second from the left...check out the stomach rolls!)

Sarah Goes to Disneyland

So, yesterday Sarah went to Disneyland with her school choir and the band!  Yes, the band!  Approximately 100 students (between the ages of 13 & 14) boarded 3 clean, luxurious looking motor coaches (enormous buses!) and headed to Orange County.  Along for the trip were approximately 10 chaperone's (one of whom was the school principal). Everyone looked very official and prepared for their 2 nights, 3 days and 14 hour round trip bus ride.

Matt and Track

Today Matt has a track meet.  His events are shot put and discus!  He is very excited and hopes to improve his PR.  For the sports challenged like myself,  this stands for PERSONAL RECORD not PUBLIC RELATIONS (which is what I thought it meant).  His PR in shot put is 39' 8", and in discus it is 90'.  I'll report his scores next blog!
