We have had the first "taste" of what it will be like to be grandparents! Believe me when I say "I CAN wait for that to happen", but when it does, we will be pros! Steve and I are godparents to little Jack! Jack arrived on October 25th. His birth was celebrate with much pomp and pain (Bris...ouch).
Steve and I share this title jointly (along with Aunt Tracy) and we take our job very seriously! The job comes with responsibility and perks...yes perks! It's amazing, when you have "god" in your job title, you wield enormous power! Here's how it works...Uncle Steve can play bounce Jack on his knee and play "pull-ups" but when Jack has had enough...we can give him back! We can change diapers and play dress-up, but when Jack has "elastic leg seal failure" from a major "blow-out"...we can give him back! We can spend the day with him and when we are tired and need 8-10 hours of uninterrupted sleep...we can give him back! In addition to the "give back" power,we can purchase new fan-dangled plastic crap and...leave it at JACK's house! We can't wait to get him his first drum set! Finally...the best thing...we can once again revert to babbling on (baby talk) like the "village idiot" when we are in his presence...this is all OK when you have "GOD" in your job title!
But seriously, this little boy has added so much joy to our lives. Steve and I melt when he smiles and coo's...he is perfect! Matt & Sarah are equally as enamored...they love "Little Jack"...as do the dogs...especially Kobi!
So, if you are ever asked to be godparents...don't think twice! Matt & Sarah, if you are reading this, I CAN wait another 10-20 years to become a Grandma!
